Kidde offers a full range of alarms that work on AC/DC power and operate on a 120V power source such as the Kidde i12040 which is an ionization smoke alarm. An ionization smoke alarm will detect invisible fire particles before a photoelectric smoke alarm will. It comes with a 120V power source and utilizes a 9-V battery as a backup.
The Kidde i12040 has a pull tab in the front so that you can activate the alarm without having to remove it from the mounting bracket.
This alarm is easy to install and comes with a pre-stripped wiring harness which means you will not need a stripper tool. It comes with a quick-connect plug that has eight inch pigtails.
One helpful feature is an alarm memory which flashes a red LED revealing which alarm was the originating unit in an interconnected system. The i12040 is adaptable to connect with up to 24 units including smoke alarms, CO alarms and heat alarms. A green LED indicates AC power.
The unit has an 85 decibel audio alarm at ten feet, a temperature range of 40 degrees F to 100 degrees F and weighs only a half pound.
The Kidde i12040 comes with a 10 year warranty.
