Using ionizing sensory technology the 9210B detects fire particles that are invisible sooner than a photoelectric smoke alarm would providing you and your family more security. This AC/DC alarm comes with a 9-V battery backup. You can connect easily to AC power with the unit’s Quick-Connect wiring harness.

The 9120B comes with a latching alarm indicator that will inform you which smoke alarm in your house the alarm originated from saving you time and energy.

The BRK 9120B is easy to install and to maintain. It includes an opening in the mounting bracket which gives you easy access for wiring. There are also keyhole slots on the mounting bracket which removes the need to take out the electrical box screws when installing the 9120B.

The battery can be replaced while unit is still mounted to your wall or ceiling because the battery compartment is on the unit’s side. There are two locking features on the unit which will prevent battery or alarm theft.

The BRK 9120B is listed to UL 217 and comes with a ten year limited warranty.

Other Reviews

The specific model was purchased as it was designed to replace the model originally installed. I was able to use…(read more)

Since new, every few random months the unit chirps a random number of times at a random hour of the day – sadly, all but once at dark o’clock…(read more)

The installation was relatively easy, but the connections did not exactly fit from the old to the new models. That was an easy fix with splicing the wire connections to the old. There are many reviews that have issues…(read more)

An ionization smoke alarm will detect invisible fire particles before a photoelectric smoke alarm will. It comes with a 120V power source and utilizes a 9-V battery as a backup.

The Kidde i12040 has a pull tab in the front so that you can activate the alarm without having to remove it from the mounting bracket.

This alarm is easy to install and comes with a pre-stripped wiring harness which means you will not need a stripper tool. It comes with a quick-connect plug that has eight inch pigtails.

One helpful feature is an alarm memory which flashes a red LED revealing which alarm was the originating unit in an interconnected system. The i12040 is adaptable to connect with up to 24 units including smoke alarms, CO alarms and heat alarms. A green LED indicates AC power.

The unit has an 85 decibel audio alarm at ten feet, a temperature range of 40 degrees F to 100 degrees F and weighs only a half pound.

I had a house full of Kidde 1275 smoke alarms, and after several malfunctions (including one electrical problem causing it to literally “go up in smoke”), I replaced them with the i12040…(read more)

This fire alarm is only four inches in diameter giving it a sleek and compact look. While the Kidde 0946 is smaller than the average fire alarm, it works just as hard to provide security for you and your family. The Kidde 0946 includes a Hush Feature which silences nuisance alarms for a limited time. This alarm is battery operated and comes with a 9-V battery. The battery installation is simple to do and the fire alarm continues to provide protection even in the event of a power outage.

The Kidde 0946 comes with a test button. This button allows you to test the fire alarm to make sure the electronic circuitry is in working order. It also allows you test the unit’s battery function and horn.

Another feature on the Kidde 0946 is the Low Battery Indicator. When your 9-V battery is low then the alarm will start chirping to inform you that it is time for a new battery so that you never forget.

Installing the Kidde 0946 is simple since no wiring is needed. The Kidde 0946 is UL Listed and comes with a five year warranty.

The First Alert SA302CN Double Sensor Battery-Powered Smoke and Fire Alarm is made to detect the smoke particles generated by both smoldering and flaming fires. This fire alarm uses ionization as well as photoelectric sensors for the earliest warning possible.

Some fires, such as an un-noticed cigarette in bedding, can smolder for many hours. The photoelectric technology of the SA302CN is designed to catch these slow-growing types of fires. For rapid fires, such as a grease fire in the kitchen, the SA302CN uses its ionizing technology.

The alarm of the SA302CN is a loud 85 decibel resulting in getting your attention immediately. This allows you to get out right away or, in the case of a minor fire, put out the flames before they spread. False alarms are rare because the dual sensors of the SA302CN detector are designed to help the fire alarm distinguish differences between emergencies and non-emergencies. The SA302CN uses a standard 9-V battery and has an EZ access battery door for simple changing.

The SA302CN Smoke and Fire Alarm meets the UL 217 standard for dual-sensor detectors. This means that the detector has passed quality-assurance tests. To the consumer this means reliable protection that you can count on.

Other Reviews of the SA302CN

Up until now I’ve only lived in houses with the usual smattering of random low-end smoke detectors. This smoke detector puts all of them to shame. Installation is incredibly easy. The smoke detector separates from the base with a light… (click here to read more)

Most Reviewers that have tested the best smoke alarms give the Kidde PI9000 a superior rating, and I am now among that group. It is wonderful for any safety-conscious family. I have researched and owned many different types of smoke alarms and can say with confidence that this one is unequivocally the best by far in my opinion, and here is why.

It has a very user friendly battery that is included in case of a power outage, and no wiring is involved in its installation. It provides the best protection as it is a dual alarm, meaning that within a single unite it houses both ionization and photoelectric sensors. I particularly like the “Hush” feature. This is useful if you happen to burn something on the stove allowing you to silence it. The alarm also has LEDs that flash, along with a low battery warning assuring you that it is working on all cylinders. It also comes with a five year warranty, but most importantly, this baby is loud!

When researching several smoke alarms I saw very positive reviews on the First Alert alarm, but the reviews failed to mention the ongoing problem it has with false alarms, and installing the battery is a pain compared to the Kidde.

Overall, for simplicity, easy of use and dependability, I recommend this flawless Kidde PI9000 alarm for peace of mind and if I could rate it at more than 5 stars, I certainly would do it.

Amazon currently has the Kidde PI900o on sale for just over $20, click here to check it out.

Having an up to date working fire alarm could mean the difference between death and life. We all want to make sure your homes; children and loved ones are protected in case of an emergency. But if you do not have a fire alarm or a fire safety system in place you may not receive the warning you need in order to protect your family. You should always have a working fire alarm in every room of your house, it may seem like overkill, but it is necessary. You never know when a fire could break out downstairs and if there is no alarm upstairs or in the room that you are in. You or anyone else in the house may not even be aware of the fire or have enough time to get everyone out safely. Trust me having a fire alarm is an easy and great way to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Firesafetyreview.com is a site you should check out, they give you reviews about different types of alarms. This site makes it easy for you to read about the featured alarms and it gives you piece of mind because you get real reviews and will breathe a lot easier once you know your family is protected. Make sure you check your alarms monthly and keep them up to date. There is no point in having alarms that will not work because you neglected to check them.

Before purchasing a fire alarm or fire alarm system you should research different types of alarm. You want to check the features of each alarm. For instance if you are the type to burn a meal now and again you would want an alarm with a silence or hush button to stop the alarm in an nonemergency situation. Or you may want an alarm that lets you know when the batteries are dying. Firesafetyreview.com is a great website to search and review. They feature some great alarms on their site. Such as, the Kidde 0946. Our families are important to us and making sure they are protected is always important.
